[SDSPS Members] June Raft-Up

Hello All~

This morning I obtained a permit from the San Diego Port Authority for our
boat to anchor in La Playa Cove Friday 6/26 - Monday am (3 nights), although
the raft-up is planned for only Friday afternoon/evening thru Sunday
afternoon officially.

*EACH OF YOU WHO PLAN TO RAFT UP YOUR BOAT NEEDS TO CONTACT THE PORT
AUTHORITY YOURSELF*

When you call them, you will need your vessel name, length (etc.) and USCG
Documentation number or CA permit number. Tell them you are part of the San
Diego Sail and Power Squadron (SDSPS) Raft-Up, listed under my name.

Please do me a favor after you obtain your permit/register and send me an
individual email so that Paula and I will know how boats to expect. Marie is
not coordinating the event, and as she indicated until we know how many will
be attending, everyone should plan to bring along enough food and drink for
themselves and some guests. If we have a good turnout, we'll convert
everything to a pot-luck. It will all work out.

Paula and I learned long ago, when hiking with friends along the Appalachian
Trail, that a good rule-of-thumb was to bring 1 bottle of wine per person
per day. Enough to share! (And we were hiking everything in - so there was a
defined tolerance limit!!). I'm not sure what Paula will plan food wise, but
I will have enough bottled gas to grill both nights (usually Dave Baer's
turf). Once we have an idea who will be coming along, Paula will circulate
some ideas about menus.

This will be great!
