Hot Off the Shelves!
For those of you who have waited impatiently for the latest version of Marine Electronics, the new manuals are here!
And the course starts next Monday, 19 October, at 1900 (7 pm) at Ideal Industries Co, 9650 Chesapeake Dr.
[1st street to the right, going west on Clairemont-Mesa Blvd. off the I-15]. P/C Steven Bakalis, SN, will be the instructor.
The 9-week "Marine Electrical Systems" covers all you need to know for safe handling of electricity on a boat, by developing the ability to 1) identify and understand the significance of various AC and DC circuits, 2) maintain and modify circuitry as needed, 3) monitor and troubleshoot unusual behavior in marine electrical circuits, 4) identify and correct AC and DC-driven forms of corrosion [galvanic and stray current corrosion], and 5) enjoy a safe, reliable and convenient electrical environment on your boat. The cost of this course is a bargain at $65.
Additional new USPS electronics courses (Communications Systems and Navigation Systems) and seminars (Radar, GPS, and Marine VHF) will be scheduled when materials and instructors become available.
